1) Is compression support harder to implement in Inherit The Earth and Beneath A Steel Sky than in other titles? Sorry if everyone else has asked this already. I noticed the compress_saga tool and the bit in the readme which stated the game wouldn't support compressed speech, but it's been quite a long while since work on ScummVMing this game was complete, so I wonder what the obstacle is? I'd like to help but I know next to nothing about patching/programming. =[
2) Will it be possible to compress the SFXXXX files in Simon 1 Windows in future? I tried to use the compress_agos tool with them just now but atm only SFXXXX15 compresses completely, all the others produce errors before the end.
Cheers!

No current plans, to add encoding support. But you can use a compressed sound effects file (effects.xxx) from the DOS CD version of Simon the Sorcerer 1 in the meantime.marzipan wrote: 2) Will it be possible to compress the SFXXXX files in Simon 1 Windows in future? Well, it's not harder, just noone got around to implement compression support in those two engines. I've added compression support for Inherit the Earth in today's SVN version, so you're welcome to try itmarzipan wrote:1) Is compression support harder to implement in Inherit The Earth and Beneath A Steel Sky than in other titles?
