Supports missing
Hi,
This is my first post here, i'd like to say thank you for ScummVM because, this is a soft easy with many fonctions and not necesseray a big configuration, i've played and finished many games since the begining of the Scumm project, espacially releases with bad emulators like FM Towns. I see today many Coktel Vision Games can be add to the ScummVM engine and i'm glad to check them, especially theses games because i'm French too.
So, i've view the datafiles listing and i've see, there are many releases missing, for example, Goblins 3 on Mac.
http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Datafiles
So, this is a list of games supported by ScummVM but without a release in [ ] :
Beneath a Steel Sky [Amiga] [Amiga CD32]
Goblins 3 [Mac]
Future Wars [Amiga] [Atari ST]
Legend of Kyrandia [Mac] [Amiga]
Lure of the Temptress [Amiga] [Atari ST]
Loom [Atari ST]
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade [Atari ST]
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis [FM Towns]
Monkey Island 2 [Mac]
Operation Stealth [Atari ST] [Amiga] [DOS EGA] [DOS VGA]
Secret of Monkey Island [Atari ST]
Zak MC Kracken [C64]
If i can help you, give to you a release or check the compatibility of a game, don't hesitate, i've finished all the Coktel Vision games, LOTT and Kyrandia too but not under ScummVM yet

From what I understand:
I get the feeling that BASS (Amiga) will not be supported since the raw data files are downloadable from the ScummVM website, and since they work just about flawlessly, there isn't any real need to add support for a rarer version which is just a port (FM Towns games have generally better graphics than the Amiga/PC equivalents)
Goblins 3 is supported by 0.10 but I'm not sure of its status yet.
Future Wars should also be supported by 0.10 but again I'm not sure of the status of it.
Lure is in progress at the moment, a partial build is available in SVN.
Don't know about the others though.

Re: Supports missing
Goblins 3 Mac should work. The compatibility list for Goblins 3 says it's supported, too.
What's missing is only the required files in the wiki. You could give me a list of files available on the floppies and I'll tell you which of them are needed (and add the info to the wiki).

Re: Supports missing
No plans to support the Amiga versions.chris wrote: Beneath a Steel Sky [Amiga] [Amiga CD32]
The Amiga version is currently not supported, but been worked on.chris wrote: Legend of Kyrandia [Mac] [Amiga]
I'm not sure about the status of the Macintosh version.
I doubt the non-PC versions will be supported, if the engine uses hard coded data (like BASS).chris wrote: Lure of the Temptress [Amiga] [Atari ST]
Please list the required data files, for these game versions, so we can add the details.chris wrote:Goblins 3 [Mac]

That's probably going to be the case. Since Lure of the Temptress is now freeware, it'll be pretty easy for anyone to just grab the data files they need for their particular language from the PC versions. I'm not aware of any graphic or sound differences that would make a non-PC version be worth directly supporting.I doubt the non-PC versions will be supported, if the engine uses hard coded data (like BASS).
That's fixed
I've checked and list the files required

Operation Stealth isn't a supported game yet. (In fact, there's a nasty bug which causes ScummVM to crash on my computer if I try to run it with 0.10.)chris wrote: Operation Stealth Amiga - Check failed under Scumm 0.10

I don't think anyone has tried to. The policy is to keep the copy protection - no matter how annoying it is - unless there's a legitimate version which lacks the copy protection information, or the owners of the game have given their permission.chris wrote: Did you find a way to disabled the copy protection to Future Wars and Coktel Vision games without bugs ?

You should rename/unpack (?) the files. "cat.inf.txt" -> "cat.inf", "musmac1.mid.bin" -> "musmac1.mid", etc.chris wrote:Goblins 3 Mac - Run under ScummVM 0.10
Required files:
intro.stk (main resources)
tot.stk (scripts)
ext.stk (extra resources)
imd.itk (movies)
Currently unsupported Mac-specific files:
*.fnt (extra fonts, the ones of the PC version bundled in intro.stk are used instead)
*.mid (music, the adlib music in intro.stk is used instead)
Incompatible save related files:
intro.$$$ (extra video buffer, a dirty hack ScummVM works around)
cat.inf (save games, ScummVM uses different save files)
ima.inf (save screenshots, ScummVM puts them together with its own separate saves)
Unneeded files:
mdo.def (config file created by the original Goblins setup)
gob3.bin (the original executable)
icon~.bin (the icon, I guess)
imd.ltk (never used by the game)
I've finally see about Operation Stealth, thanks eriktorbjorn
Thank you DrMcCoy for your post, i will repack only the necessary files for Gob3
I've speak about copy protection because Lucas games have the copy protection disabled and for Delphine games for example, that's pretty hard, with the original notice too :pI don't think anyone has tried to. Well, for most LucasArts games it's a necessity, really, because when the games were re-released, LucasArts often disabled the copy protection themselves, probably to save money on a simpler packaging. Since the data files are still the same, we cannot tell the difference between the releases. We have to bypass the copy protection too, to make sure the game is playable.chris wrote: I've speak about copy protection because Lucas games have the copy protection disabled and for Delphine games for example, that's pretty hard, with the original notice too :p
With Future Wars, we haven't had any reports of such releases yet. I have a re-release (a collection of several of Delphine Software's games, actually), but that one did include all the copy protection stuff.
Will it be possible to add support for Mac music in the future? The music in Gob1 Mac is already played. Has the mid format changed in Gob3 (and Gob2)?DrMcCoy wrote:
