Monkey Island 2- no alley game?

Post by benw »

Hey everybody,

I've been reliving old times playing the Monkey Island trilogy on ScummVM. I'm very stuck on MI2 because when I enter the alley in the Wharf, there's no game going on. Nothing in there but an empty 'room' with no options but to exit.

I've read several walkthroughs and hints sites and none of them suggest there's anything that needs to be done to 'activate' the alley game. I think this is a bug in ScummVM (although it's been a decade since I've played the real version of the game, so I sincerely apologize in advance if I've just missed a step playing) and am requesting any possible way to get around it so I can get the part invitation and finish the game.

Thanks!

Just so we can rule out the simple explanations first... which of the alleys did you enter? There are two of them: One on each side of the library.

OK. I am officially the biggest dumbass to ever walk the earth. Thanks for that, it works beautifully now.

Keep up the good work on ScummVM! Truly awesome what you're doing.
