macbook pro fullscreen display problems

Post by philipp »

hi guys!

i'm running my macbook pro 15" with a resolution of 1440x900. in fullscreen mode with aspect ratio scummvm has dark ugly sidebars. i have noch discoverd when i disable aspect ratio and set the graphic mode to 3x scummvm gets bigger on the screen and has now a little bar of some centimeters at each side. is there any solution to play "really" fullscreen?

ps: tried every resolution from 640x480 to 1440x900 but the problem persists.

I'm not sure what exactly the problem is?
The games originally were meant to be played on a 4:3 screen - the screen on the macbook is not 4:3, so even if you could stretch ScummVM it'd look distorted.

It seems to me that's the same problem with movies and a 4:3 TV set - either they cut off the left and right or you end up with black bars on top and bottom - no way around it.

... unless I'm getting something fundamentally wrong here, of course.

I'm not sure what you mean by "dark ugly side bars." As clem said, the game has to be boxed into a 4:3 ratio, but on my MacBook Pro there's just a straight black frame around the game screen in fullscreen mode. Not at all ugly or problematic.
