Does GBAMP v1.0 work with scummvm?

Post by johnzo »

I have a GBAMP(CF) V1.0 and I'm wondering if I buy a superkey slot-1 card I can run scummvm for DS, has anyone ever tried it?

I know the DS port page says GBAMP works great (with a nopass like superkey), but it doesn't specify v1.0 or v2.0. The only place I see a version number is on the mightymax page (who built the multibootloader), and he says you need a v2.0 GBAMP. (but doesn't necessarily mean 1.0 doesn't work, maybe no one ever tried...)

Here's where I found the info:
http://scummvm.drunkencoders.com/#gbampcf
linked to:
http://chishm.drunkencoders.com/NDSMP/index.html
linked to:
http://mightymax.org/gbamp_multiboot.html (he says you need 2.0)

Scummvm rocks!

As far as I know, Chishm's firmware hack that allows the GBAMP to run DS code only works on the v2. Sorry.

I did some asking around to MightyMax and Chishm, and I think you are right agentq. MightyMax said his he wasn't sure if it's multibootloader would work with gbamp1.0 because because he was pretty sure Chism's firmware wasn't compatible with 1.0. When I checked with Chism he said he has heard of people getting it to work, but he wasn't sure how they did it. And if the author of the firmware wasn't sure how to get it working on 1.0, well it doesn't look good.

I've googled this topic quite a bit, but haven't come up with anything, either success, or even an attempt. So to be safe I guess I'll have to spend more than just the 12 bux for a superkey to get some awesome scummvm DS action. Oh well, it'll be worth it! (especially if I can get snesds running too)
