Backyard Soccer 2004 problem
I run a Mac OS X 10.5 and I am trying to run Backyard Soccer 2004 from a Macintosh version CD-ROM. Whenever I try to run it I get two messages. The first is No Valid Save/Load Folder is set! Please use the 'Choose Save Folder' menu to select one. And I have a valid Save folder. It works with other games. When I click that I get this error message. ERROR! blinkw32.dll is not loaded. I click that. The same message comes up again. Then I get a grainy start up screen then it just stops. I have checked if I have the correct files and I do. What's wrong and what is blinkw32.dll?
first of all, the game apparently is unplayable in ScummVM: http://www.scummvm.org/compatibility.ph ... ils=soccer
are you trying it under ScummVM or the native version?
the error message you mention, is that blink or bink? A binkw32.dll could mean it tries to play bink/smacker movie files (which isn't supported by ScummVM in any case)

Re: Backyard Soccer 2004 problem
That should be "binkw32.dll". Make sure you have encoded the videos from bink to dxa.Bernstein229 wrote:ERROR! blinkw32.dll is not loaded.
That's normal. 16bpp graphics in HE games isn't supported (yet).Bernstein229 wrote:Then I get a grainy start up screen then it just stops. I have checked if I have the correct files and I do.
