I've read posts on the forum about compressing the .bun and .san files for COMI. While it is possible to compress them, I was wondering if it's better to leave them uncompressed.
If I don't mind sacrificing the space on my ipod, would the game performance be better with the uncompressed files? I did read one bit in the wiki that said where possible leave files uncompressed, but as some testing of compression options has been done since, has this position changed?

I compressed the files and then used different combinations of compressed and uncompressed files to compare. I didn't notice too much difference between compressed and uncompressed in terms of performance. I have the occasional studder but I got that with the uncompressed files too sometimes. You should probably try for yourself.
EDIT: I forgot to say that most, if not all, of the time it runs great, both compressed and uncompressed.
