Post by hdofu »

Hey I have been trying to get Kings quest IV working with Scummvm but haven't had alot of luck getting the scummvm to recognize the game, can anyone tell me what I need to do to patch it?

These are the files I have put in a directory:

kq4dir
kq4vol.*
kq4.sys16
object
words.tok
sierrastandard

Edit: Bug is solved

Define "locks up". Does the game just freeze or is there a message on the debug console?

Yes, you're right. I'm getting that too with SQ2 Apple][ (I don't feel like digging up my KQ4 manual :P). Please, file a bug report.

I found out what the problem was:

I was missing files kq4.sys16 & sierrastandard.

After adding those files, the game runs, even with 2gs (still buggy) music.

Try adding those clone2727.

Ah, yes. I forgot I never took them off my SQ2 disks. I did for KQ4.

It's not complete.

The game still shouldn't crash in that manner... the sound shouldn't play when the instruments haven't been found. I've attached a patch here.
