Monkey island 2 mp3 soundtrack

I want to say thanks to the awesome job the scummvm team has done so far with this project, I have followed progress thru out the years and every time I come back the project is expanding and exceeding my expectations.

I recently adquired a copy of Monkey island 2, Lechuck Revenge and was able to received some mp3s of the midi versions of the game, which sounds great, these mp3s were coded at 44100hz and 160kbps. I was curious, can scummvm play those mp3s instead of using the midi synthetizer?
I have the latest version of scummvm 0.12.0 and have tried renaming the mp3 to track1.mp3 track2.mp3 etc.

No, it's not possible. The game is doing way too many fancy tricks with the music for it to be emulated that way.
