Just one file? I don't know about other versions, but the DOS version that I bought has two data files.

The PC version of MI2 only requires 2 datafiles to run.

ScummVM is a replacement for the original MONKEY2.EXE, so that file isn't needed. I guess the .IMS files have something to do with sound, but ScummVM doesn't need them.

The MONKEY2.000 and MONKEY2.001 files should be enough. I don't know why they don't work for you. You did point ScummVM to the folder with the files, right?

Is it possible that the files were truncated and/or corrupted when transfering them? (I'm only asking because that has turned out to be the problem in some other cases.)

Then I have no idea. The MD5 sums for my files are:

Code: Select all

3686cf8f89e102ececf4366e1d2c8126 monkey2.000
50993d719990d2e212c50a915f6c50da monkey2.001
They're the English version of the game, and ScummVM recognizes them without any trouble.

Are you using the official 0.12.0 release or another release? Some releases only support special engines, like the Broken Sword games. Such build wont recognize any other games besides Broken Sword etc.

I downloaded scummvm here http://www.scummvm.org/downloads.php

I think is the 0.12.0 version

md5 sums....

3686cf8f89e102ececf4366e1d2c8126 monkey2.000
50993d719990d2e212c50a915f6c50da monkey2.001

it's equal!
