Firmware 3.40, installing scumm vm

i know its been said before and iv looked at alot of "how to install" threads but most are prior to my firmware version. im running 3.40 and wanna know how to get scumm up and running. will having 3.40 OE-A be enough to do it or do i downgrade from there? is just confused as to the steps to take, i heard about using lumines or the pandora method but i dunno if this will help in installing scumm vm, thanks
