I was wondering during the last months these companies supported Amiga, did they plan to release AGA compatible 256 colour versions of their games?
Yesterday I managed to run Amiga versions of Larry5, KingsQuest5 and SpaceQuest4 with MT32 sound by editing the resource.cfg file and changing the soundriver from amigasnd.drv to mt32.drv. I wonder if any work was done to create a AmigaAGA.drv (like the PC versions' VGA320.drv) so we could use the 256 colour graphx from the PC version on a standard Amiga1200 with a harddrive.

Re: Sierra, LucasArts and AGA Amigas
I remember reading in a german games mag around '94 that Sierra *planned* to release a 256 color (AGA) version of Kings Quest 6 and in addition to that mentioned the realease of the upcoming versions of the Kings Quest series.
History told us that nothing happened.
KQ6 itself was developed out-house of Sierra by Revolution software (you'll see shocking similarities in the file structure on the disks ). They did an awesome job on the color reduction. Imho KQ6 Amiga is by far the best Sierra adventure game (graphics wise) to ever hit the Amiga.
Nothing was heard or written after that mags article and Sierra abandoned Amiga officially soon after.
The last game was iirc Police Quest III which had one of the ugliest color reductions i have seen so far in a game.
Too bad, as i also longed for a true 256 color version of the latest Sierra games ... well, at least now i will get them eventually to play on my Amiga with help of ScummVM

Wasn't it converted to Revolution's Virtual Theatre engine for the Amiga?Raziel wrote:KQ6 itself was developed out-house of Sierra by Revolution software (you'll see shocking similarities in the file structure on the disks ).

Maybe, yes, that would explain the file structure i mentioned compared to the one in BASS (Amiga).marzipan wrote:Wasn't it converted to Revolution's Virtual Theatre engine for the Amiga?Raziel wrote:KQ6 itself was developed out-house of Sierra by Revolution software (you'll see shocking similarities in the file structure on the disks ).
Anyway KUDOS to Revolution for theit great job on the game which kept me on the screen for hours. I hate and love them irrational puzzles and word-games
