Coktel Vision Double Feature

Post by DrMcCoy »

New year, new supported games. And we are proud to announce two of such newly supported games right away!

The first one is the FMV-tastic detective mystery Urban Runner: You are the investigative reporter Max who's being hunted for a murder he didn't commit by both the police and the actual killers. Can you escape your hunters and solve the crime?

The second one is an obscure interactive storybook for children of the Playtoons series: Bambou le Sauveur de la Jungle. We have only managed to find the French version of the game; other language versions may or may not exist. Information on these would be very much appreciated.

So, grab your running shoes and/or jungle hat, the latest daily build of ScummVM, your game CDs and join us in the (bug)hunt! The needed datafiles can be found here and here. Bugs should be reported to our bug tracker, but please follow our bug submission guidelines. Screenshots of both games would be great too!

I´ve read your Blog on ScummVM.org since you mentioned (Karl) Urban Runner the first Time (Yeah, the April Fool).

And since you told us you are really working on it, I could not wait to play this FMV-tastic game on ScummVM.

Keep on the great work!

Just to report quickly I finished Urban Runner yesterday on the latest Ubuntu x32 with no problems at all.
I took loads of screenshots. I'll convert some to png and upload them to the patch tracker.
What's next Doctor? The Last Dynasty?

Eh, I don't know. That one has a mean hard-coded space shooter.
Same with Inca 2 (completely different hard-coded space shooter, too).

I started some mucking about with the Addy / Addy Junior (Adi / Adibou) series. We'll see. They do need dBase 3 support (reading only, I hope), though.
Incidentally, they alsso seems to need some stuff that's still missing for the other Playtoons games, so those might be finished first.

There's also AJ's World, which is missing some small things, and Little Red Riding hood, which might be near-working as well.

Lastly, I still need to finish Dark Seed 2 :P.

It'd better be The Last Dynasty. It's the only Coktel Vision game I own!

Ah... Urban Runner. Remember creating the walkthroughs out of it. :)

Might gonna replay this again someday. Lucky I still kept the discs. Wonder if I can make compiled version of all 4 discs?

Urban Runner is running great on Windows. But on the PSP Port of ScummVM (latest SVN) the Mouse Pointer is not visible. I would love to play this game on the PSP System.
